Twice Scottish curling champion Vicky Wright returned to nursing due to the World Curling Championships playing in Canada.
She told British Curling, “Throughout this season, both the NHS and British Curling allowed me to do one shift a week. This was something that I really loved and I didn’t want to lose my skills; so it was nice to do anything but curling-it kept me focused.
“Being a nurse has always given me a strong outlook on life, and has always kept my mind on what counts.”
